Fine Option Community Service

The the YMCA-YWCA of Winnipeg is a Community Resource Centre where people can register and get information about the Fine Option/Community Service Order program.

The Fine Option Programs gives individuals an opportunity to work off their fines, other than traffic fines and parking tickets, by contributing their time within the community at a rate equal to the provincial minimum wage. The Community Service Order operates in the same way, though in this program the individual has been court-ordered to provide community work.

The abilities of the individuals are matched to the community needs, usually in a location that's close to home.
